Originally from the Toronto area (I know!), I spent the past twelve years in the Niagara Region. So I’m accustomed to fabulous wine, world-class restaurants - a move to Ottawa seemed oh-so fitting!

So far, summer in our nation's capital has been a blast. And now it's Booming!

My career life has mostly involved working in our local media landscape either behind the mic or behind the scenes at radio and television. I enjoy being connected: from working with our advertisers and meeting our listeners to serving the community to the fullest.

Great friends and family. I'm married, I'm a dad and thrilled to work, live and play in Canada's Capital. Sports are a passion. And I LOVE comedy and a great sense of humour. Most of all, I get a real kick out of watching the world around me (some stuff you just can't make up). It's all about having fun doing what you do - whenever possible.

I’m originally from ottawa.. started working in radio right after graduating from college.. it’s true what they say, you have to work your way up -- my first job was as a receptionist! but eventually you get promoted to what you like and what you’re good at.. i’ve been in radio for over 15 years, and have to say, the people i’m working with now are the best!! everyone here has become like a second family.. just bought my very first home (quite the fixer upper!!).. and as it goes, once you get the home, you gotta get the dog too!! found a sweet ol' hound online at a local spca, and while i thought we'd be taking these long walks together, turns out -- he’s the type you have to drag around the neighbourhood!! i’m also a huge movie fan.. so if you know a good one.. ;) renee@boom997.com

My dream of joining Jem and the Holograms quickly came to an end when I realized I'd have to dye my hair some wildly fluorescent colour. (I've had enough hair dye/cut mishaps that I knew I should proceed with caution). Forget the fact that Jem was a fictitious barbie with magical earrings, and also a cartoon. AHA did an excellent job of meshing the real life world with the sketch world...

I do still own several Jem tapes (they came with the barbies) - and remember rockin' out with my 'microphone' in the dining room - just waiting for things to start falling from all my jumping around. What can I say? I played to the (imaginary) crowd. Music has always been my thing. I used to call in to radio stations to request songs - I once made my own radio dj mix tape. All I remember is singing Madonna 'Cherish' into the mini microphone attached to my boom box. Wow.... whatever happened to that tape, I'm not sure, and that's probably a good thing...

I love making my way into the boom studio in the afternoons. Seeing what's in store musically is like finding that forgotten mix tape that you loved. And recorded. OFF the radio. Good times! It's so true that 'You don't work a day in your life when you love what you do.' That is definitely how I feel - and I hope that you're lucky enough to feel the same way about what you do every day.

Hi!

Kim Sullivan here! I'm the little francophone of the group -- having grown up near Montreal and spent most of my life there. I'm also the unusual one when it comes to how I got into radio!

After travelling to over 30 countries, living on 3 continents and getting 3 degrees, I became a teacher for the deaf. It was a fascinating job; as I am one to talk so much, I would spend days without talking but still communicating in sign language! Glorious! However, I think I bottled up 2 1/2 years worth of spoken word because, all of a sudden, I just felt like I needed to talk and I needed to do it for a living!! I took an intensive 4 month TV/Radio hosting class, knocked at Astral's doors in Montreal and a week later was hired! I started producing, entertainment reporting and contributing to a talk show, then became the traffic girl and finally was promoted to ''The Sulli Show'' on Virgin Radio Montreal. I was so happy and I knew I had found the job I was suppose to be doing! After a year, I decided to pursue my climb in broadcasting by becoming the midday girl on CurveFM in Winnipeg (where I also discovered that -37 is a norm, not an exception!). Seven months later, the opportunity to launch a brand new station in our Capital city came knocking at my door and I could not refuse!

So here I am in Ottawa -- keeping you entertained on weekends from 8am to 2pm and on Monday & Tuesday 6pm to 11pm. You can also catch Kim's Korner on my webpage. Where I burp really loud.

Let’s give you all the facts:

Here are some facts about me: At age 15 I was scouted by the Boston Red Sox, obviously that didn't work out. Then at 18 I auditioned at Juilliard School of Fine Arts for theater, that didn't work out so well either. So after years of menial retail jobs, where I had to wear name tags and poor fitting khakis I got my break in radio at a small station in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia on its beautiful South Shore, think Jersey Shore with less tanning and less teeth. I’m a big comic book fan. I also love movies, video games, TV, sports I like to think I am a well rounded geek/nerd. Also my second toe is longer than my big toe, and I like pineapple.

I hail from the sprawling metropolis of Meaford, Ontario but am thrilled to call Ottawa my home. I knew that I was destined to be in the radio biz from an early age. If you knew me back then, chances are I made you a mix tape. Back in 2010, I graduated from the Radio Broadcasting Program at Algonquin College and now I’m living the dream!

Things I love: dudes with accents-namely my Fiancé Anthony (British), movies from the 80’s & 90’s, my sweet record collection, the colour pink, live music, shoes, working on our ’66 Ford Bronco (it’s a real project...got any tips!?) and of course, spending a part of my day with YOU on boom 99.7!
