Though short-lived,
the Chosen Few was among the truly seminal Detroit rock bands of the mid-'60s; one of the earliest acts to play the legendary Motor City teen club the Hideout, the group launched the careers of two local music legends -- vocalist Scot Richardson, later the frontman of
SRC, as well as guitarist
Ron Asheton, subsequently a founding member of
the Stooges. Despite leaving behind no known recordings,
the Chosen Few remain a landmark in the evolution of the Detroit scene.
