Man Of Steel Review

It is always a little nerve racking when you go to movie you have such high expectations for. I have been anticipating “Man of Steel” since it was first announced, and that anticipation grew with each preview. The movie does not disappoint, in fact it exceeded all my expectations. DC comics may not be releasing as many movies as Marvel but their quality is much higher.  Zack Snyder does a masterful job directing a film with amazing action sequences balanced with great character moments.  Henry Cavill delivers as Superman, Kevin Coster and Russel Crowe are outstanding as his fathers. A superhero is only as good as his villain and Michael Shannon’s Zod is a worthy foe, whose motives are understandable. I also need to give mention of Amy Adams feisty portrayal of Lois Lane.

This is a must see on the big screen with amazing effects, and the 3D adds ...

Florida June 2013

Posted By: Scotty Mars · 6/12/2013 9:17:00 PM

Just got back from a trip to one of my favorite vacation spots, sunny Florida. It was a short trip packed to the brim with fun. It stated when I arrived on Friday afternoon, after a couple hours hitting the outlet stores I headed to Downtown Disney for Cirque De Soleil's La Nouba. You may be hesitant to take time away from the theme parks to check out this show, make the time. La Nouba is amazing, and there isn't a bad seat in the theater. Cirque De Soleil never disappoints, if you have never been to a show one is headed our way in July I encourage you to check them out.

Next day was spent at Disney's Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekends. If you are a Star Wars fan these weekends are a blast, guests from the saga share very cool behind the scenes stories. The panel ...

Fast & Furious 6 Review

Posted By: Scotty Mars · 5/29/2013 2:21:00 PM

“Fast and Furious 6” is everything you expect from this franchise. It’s loud, it’s dumb, the car chases are crazy, and it is highly entertaining. The plot is pretty straight forward Dom (Vin Diesel) and his team are brought in to help catch some world class criminals who also use high speed means to pull off amazing robberies. The entire cast gives fine performances in roles they are very used to playing by now, even Vin Diesel has some nice understated moments. The Rock is really becoming a scene stealer, he is living up to the title of the next big action star. Speaking of action stars, there is a scene after the credits that sets up Fast 7 that will have any action movie fan excited. Right now it looks like this franchise still has plenty of gas left in the tank!

Star Trek Into Darkness Review

Posted By: Scotty Mars · 5/19/2013 5:57:00 PM

I will start by saying I am more of a Star Wars guy then a Star Trek guy, but for the most part I have enjoyed the Trek movies. Director J.J. Abrams reboot of the Star Trek films was very enjoyable even if it did get a little messy at the end. His second venture is much better. “Star Trek Into Darkness” is a fun giant sci-fi action that anyone would enjoy. The first half is very focused on Kirk, while the second half gives Spock his time to shine, but the beauty of the script is all the main characters get to have a moment. I won't spoil who the villain is, but he is treated with the respect he has earned in Star Trek lore, his back story is a bit rushed though. Chris Pine gives a fine performance as James T. Kirk and Zoe Saldana is great ...
