harvey:

i am a neutered male, orange tabby and white domestic shorthair.
the shelter staff think i am about 1 year and 11 months old.
i was surrendered to the shelter by my owner.
i have been at the shelter since feb 08

i love to: chase! let's play with some toys that will engage me mentally and use up my energy.
i have: a very playful side. i'm an independant guy that likes to play.
i get along well with: adult experienced feline owners.
i'd rather not: cuddle too much. i like my own space.
i need: a home without children, as i play too rough for their liking. my style of play is not enjoyed by most feline companions so i would be best as the only feline in the home.

Homemade ice cream can be a pain in the neck, but popsicles? You have NO excuse not to make popsicles. Just buy a mold (or rig up some dixie cups), pour in various liquids that taste good, and wait for the magic to happen.

"Poptail" is a fun way to say "cocktail in popsicle form," which is a concept we can all get behind.

Here are some recipes to get you started:

1. French 75 Popsicles -- A classy frozen take on the French 75 (champagne, gin, lemon). Recipe here.

2. Bloody Mary Popsicles -- Definitely breakfast-appropriate. Recipe here.

3. Blueberry Moonshine Popsicles -- Bonus points if you brew the moonshine in your own bathtub. Recipe here.

4. Maple Brown Derby Cocktail Pops -- A "Brown Derby" is traditionally made with grapefruit, honey, and bourbon. Recipe here.

5. Strawberry Champagne Popsicles -- Recipe here.

6. Cucumber Honeydew Margarita Popsicles ...

The City’s Fireworks By-law outlines the rules around fireworks use. Anyone planning to have fireworks displays over the Victoria Day weekend should do so in a safe and courteous manner, keeping in mind the NOISE BY-LAW!!!

Consumer fireworks may be discharged on the day of, the day before or the day after Victoria Day. They must be discharged by someone 18 years or older, and on private property, with permission of the property owner. The fireworks display must not cause danger or nuisance to any person or property.

It is also important to note that the sale of consumer fireworks, except on Victoria Day and the seven business days immediately preceding Victoria Day, is prohibited.

Firecrackers are prohibited from being used or sold in the City of Ottawa or Province of Ontario. Anyone selling, purchasing or using firecrackers within the City of Ottawa is in violation of the Fireworks By-law ...
