The things we do in this business!
I have done some pretty half baked stuff, over the years, for some pretty good causes.
The craziest is probably getting into 13 century knights armour — and letting listeners drive golf balls at me, while I broadcast my show live to air in Toronto.
That stunt didn’t make me nervous, until some of the old junker cars they placed in the field as targets were hit and severely dented.
Then I got nervous.
Today’s stunt was much less crazy, but the nerves most certainly come alive. It’s a great way to get yourself going on a Monday morning!
Today I repelled 20 stories off the edge of the Morguard Building at 280 Slater (at Bank) for “Easter Seals.”
What a great view of the Ottawa River and Parliament.
It’s the annual “Drop Zone” Event.
Later on my Boom colleague;the very brave Heather Ray, swallowed hard and snapped a carabiner on and made her first descent ever.
Watching Heather made me more nervous that I was for my rappel. I swear, her voice is almost mezzo-soprano as she jumps off that edge.
Have a look at Heather getting started:
An awesome job Heather!
Dylan Black will be the last volunteer to finish off the day today.
Watch Facebook Live and keep an eye on Boom997.com for live footage and pictures.
I think it will be neat to see what one of those helmets do to Dylan’s supremely gelled coiffe.
Lets hope the Boom Street Team captures that moment for posterity!
Here’s is my descent today;
