Another successful Chase The Ace charity fundraiser has concluded with the Ace of Spades being drawn for a prize of 2,605,451 million dollars! The new millionaires are Don and Marg Goreman from Conception Bay, Newfoundland.
Watch as the winning card it turned over!
The Gormans have never stepped foot off of Newfoundland! They plan to to travel in the future and see what the world has to offer in a warm destination. They will share their winnings with their son a few other couples that they were in on the draw with.
The road to riches was a long one yesterday!
The musical spirit of the east coast was alive and well. Local performers entertained the long lines of people in pursuit of the ace of spades.
Chase The Ace is a fundraiser for a local church that started with a weekly draw in September of 2016. People buy tickets for a chance to pull the ace of spades from a deck of cards. Every wrong card pulled is removed from the deck. Only 8 cards remained yesterday to draw from.
St. Kevins Parish has a Facebook page that explains how the contest works and thanks their tireless volunteers. They started the lottery to fundraise for repairs to their parish. They got much more than they ever expected!
