Could this be the highest rated SNL in ages?
US Weekly has just reported this:
An insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly that the New York-born political aide “is angling” to appear on Saturday Night Live. “He is asking people about getting on — it was his idea!”
If former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer meets his doppelganger Melissa McCarthy on SNL it would be a live television event of epic proportions.
I never would have thought that Spicer appearing on SNL would be possible, but with his replacement Anthony Scaramucci appearing on Stephen Colbert on Monday, ANYTHING is possible!
Stay tuned. This story is developing and a nice distraction from news about North Korea.
Meanwhile, the warm up for the new SNL season starting on September 30th kicks off tonight with the special 4 week exclusive run on Global TV of SNL: Weekend Update Summer Edition.
Co-anchors Michael Che and Colin Jost return with new 30 minute episodes.
It was only a couple of weeks ago that Sean Spicer reportedly turned down an opportunity to appear on Dancing With The Stars. Maybe after the announcement yesterday of Scaramucci booking a late night TV appearance, it lit a competitive fire under Spicer? Who knows, but we do know if this SNL/Spicer rendezvous should materialize, it will be a ratings bonanza.
