It looks like we will see one less familiar face on the ice this season, with Mike Fisher announcing his retirement from the NHL this morning!
The ex-Ottawa Senator, and captain of the Nashville Predators, wrote a beautiful open letter in The Tennessean thanking his team, the coaches, and more than anything; the fans.
“I believe that this team, that this city, is going to win a championship, and I’m going to be the biggest fan. No one will be happier than I will be to see it happen, because, these fans, they deserve it.”
He expressed his gratitude for his time with the team, as well as recounting some of the more special moments he had experienced both on and off the ice.
Fans, media, and other players are already reaching out to congratulate him on a wonderful career.
