I was at Meech Lake on Sunday and as I started the trek back to the car, I noticed 2 women in front of me looking at the fence that runs parallel to the road. I glanced over to see what they were looking at it. And then I saw them. Hundreds of them. Tent caterpillars walking the fence. And once I noticed them, suddenly, I noticed that they were EVERYWHERE. On the ground. Coming down from trees. All along the fence. In the parking lot. It was one of those things that just turned gross. A caterpillar or two, fine, but once you’re seeing thousands?! Igh. And it looks like this may just be the beginning.
Check out this recent footage from Saskatchewan.

WATCH VIDEO: Here you’ll see thousands upon thousands of tent caterpillars in Saskatchewan.
I don’t love the idea of killing them, but when you have an infestation, I understand just wanting them GONE! Apparently vegetable oil can work on nests. (see in video below)
