I wasn’t a super-hero comic kind of guy, I collected hockey cards and I grew with MAD Magazine.
It was my first subscription along with “Hockey Digest.” I realize now that MAD played a giant roll in my love for satire, and biting sarcasm.
It’s been around since 1952, reaching it’s peak in 1974 when every boy seemed to read it.
65 years later and is still published twice a month. An amazing run.
Who was your favourite? The late Don Martin was my favorite cartoonist of all time, without a doubt.
I could copy all his cartoons, and the covers of all my high school notebooks would be testimony to that. If they still existed that is.
