That’s what this painting by the late Quebec artist Jean Paul Riopelle went for at a recent auction.
That ranks it second on the list of Canada’s most expensive works of art.
The piece is called ‘Vent du nord’ and is described as providing ‘endless adventures for the eye’.
So Vent du nord is now the second most expensive piece of Canadian art.
MOST expensive goes to Lawren Harris’ “Mountain Forms” which sold at an auction in November for over $11 million.
