Water levels on the Ottawa River are at a 2o year high. As of last night, 143 homes in Gatineau, Quebec have been evacuated due to flooding.
The Ontario town of Rockland, just east of Ottawa has declared a state of emergency. With more rain in the forecast, up to 50mm in the next 2 days, experts fear that conditions will worsen.

Gatineau was the first to experience flooding and they are making their way through 166 000 sand bags for distribution. For up to date information on road closures, flood maps and where to find relief, visit the City of Gatineau web site.
So far, 24 pets have been rescued including this little guy in the video.
