Kevin O’Leary has backed out of the Conservative Leadership Race and has thrown his support behind co-leader Maxime Bernier.
Bernier and O’Leary have been strong, and neck and neck in the polls but it is thought that ultimately O’Leary didn’t stand a chance in Quebec.
In O’Leary’s own words ‘Quebec is the Florida of Canada,’ and he only had 11-12% there.
He certainly did bring star power, and helped heighten awareness on a race that needed a little zip.
A funny exchange in the office with a colleague this afternoon when we heard that O’Leary was O’Gonzo. Me; It’s tough to teach an old dog French. Co-Worker; Yeah, especially one who’s made his money in English!” LOL
13 Candidates remain, still too many.
The Conservatives will name the successor to Stephen Harper’s position on May 27th from the Toronto Convention Center.
Expect several others to take their name off the list by that time.
So 5 weeks to go.
In the race; Maxime Bernier, Andrew Scheer, Erin O’Toole, Michael Chong, Kelly Leitch, Chris Alexander, Lisa Raitt, Steven Blaney, Pierre Lemieux, Andrew Saxton, Brad Trost, Deepak Obrai and Rick Peterson.
