Awe inspiring. Majestic. And drawing thousands of tourists by the day.
This is “Iceberg Alley” in Newfoundland. This picture is taken outside of Ferryland (Population – 465) near the main shipping lanes of the North Atlantic.
It’s been a big year for “Iceberg seekers” on the south shore. In a normal year there would be around 80 or so icebergs to watch pass by.
This year there has been approximately 600. And the tourists have been just as impressive, and just as impressed.
Great for them but a pain for the fishermen.
They can run aground, they can crash into shore, and they can break into pieces; which can be like a cannon going off. And it keeps going off!
