What ever happened to air travel? It used to be a special event. Now it’s like going to the dentist.
In this case, even worse.
This story about a United Flight out of Chicago on Sunday night leaves one mystified, even horrified.
If this isn’t assault, I guess I don’t know what assault is.
You have probably been on a packed flight or heard tell of a passenger who took the airlines offer to get off the plane for another passenger at an agreed price probably because ‘they weren’t in a rush.’
In this case United Flight 3411, Chicago to Louisville, made an offer to passengers of $400 and a hotel room.
They seemed desperate to get some crew on-board so they could properly man some flights down the line.
Possibly everyone was in a hurry to get home. No one accepted.
United then doubled the offer to $800, but still no one took.
What they did next shocked everyone on the flight, and now (thanks to a passengers Facebook video) everyone else who has seen this footage.
It’s just nasty.
Turns out, this poor fellow had his number pulled and he was getting removed to make room for that crew whether he liked it, or not.
And he didn’t. He wanted to go home.
Instead, watch what happens.
I would say United has a great deal to explain, and I would guess that this story won’t be going away…..anytime soon.
It seems United forgot the part that says an agreed price and at the customers own will.
Hopefully there will be hell to pay for this gross misstep which would seem to back some peoples belief that passengers are nothing more than cattle in the world of modern aviation transportation.
