According to the Ottawa Citizen, the NHL will finally make the long awaited Outdoor Game Announcement tomorrow here in Ottawa.
The game will reportedly take place on December 17th at TD Place and will pit the hometown Ottawa Senators up against the rival Montreal Canadiens.
Both the Stanley Cup and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman are in Ottawa, and sources tell us to expect the league to call a news conference at the Chateau Laurier for tomorrow (Friday, March 17th) at the Chateau Laurier at 11am.
Sens Owner Eugene Melnyk and NHL V.P. Bill Daly will also be on hand.
The game will be a part of Canada’s 150th Birthday celebrations and Ottawa 2017, and will be held on a Sunday — only 3 weeks after the Grey Cup which will also be held at TD Place.
It would have been super cool to see this game played on the lawn at Parliament Hill, but there’s no denying that this stretch of 4 weeks may go down as the biggest party this town has ever witnessed!
