Did you know that you may be on the hook if someone steals, and then uses your bank card — should the Bank deem that your PIN number is too easy to figure out?
Hey, they say it’s right there in the small print!
Considering that the Banks make billions a year, I find this very greedy and very disappointing.
This poor woman is on the hook after getting her wallet lifted at a Toronto restaurant, after the thief then fraudulently rung up her Scotiabank Visa within an hour of the theft.
Even though VISA advertises a ‘zero liability policy’ and all of the other card companies empathized with the victim, Scotiabank is sticking to their policy and this person now owes them $1,600.00.
They say DO NOT use any combination of your address, birthdate, SIN number or anything too easy or you too may find yourself paying THEM back.
I think I may just change my Bank.
