You may recall the story of the road rage incident in Ottawa with a man on a bike vs. the man in the car.
We reported this story originally on January 16th. The incident occurred on Bronson Avenue and it was accompanied with some video footage — which I will re-post for your viewing pleasure.
Although the whole story is not told by this video, it certainly appears as though the cyclist (Teacher Victor Jung) was put in harms way as the driver actually rams him with his car…repeatedly.
Police say at one point, the driver got out of his vehicle, grabbed the bicycle, and threw it to the ground and then hit Mr. Jung.
It was reported initially (by Police) that Mr. Jung did NOT want to file charges. He disputed that and made his feelings known to Ottawa Police.
Today it was announced that charges were indeed finally laid.
Patrice LePage, 47, of Gatineau, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault, and mischief under $5000.
He has been released on a promise to appear.
Here is a recap of the video captured, which has finally resulted in charges being laid by Ottawa Police:
