It probably won’t exactly look like this…
But, there could be at least 1,000 people gathered at the U.S. Embassy today forming a human chain to show their solidarity with those thrown into confusion and chaos by the controversial travel ban enacted by the U.S. government.
A statement on the event’s Facebook page reads…
US President Trump has issued an executive order banning the entry of individuals from certain Muslim majority countries, temporarily suspending the entry of all refugees into the US, and barring the resettlement of Syrian refugees to the US indefinitely.
Hundreds of individuals have faced detention since the order was issued, with many who continue to be detained.
These actions are harmful, divisive, and discriminatory.
Join us on Monday the 30th outside the US Embassy in Ottawa to form a human chain and protest this unconscionable, unconstitutional action.
The demonstration begins at noon and if you’d like to take part, or just a little curious, click HERE for more information.
