The Weather Network got this footage of a near miss in Northern Ontario.
Watch this driver barely escape a collision with a herd of Moose in Hornepayne, Ontario (a rail town named in a Gordon Lightfoot song).
These two Bulls are probably 1,000 pounds each, and even at the reduced speed, with these beasts standing at 7 feet tall, you can see how when a collision occurs (sometimes fatally) they often come right through the windshield.
On average, there are 20 some odd fatal collisions with Moose in Canada per year. Ontario often leads in statistics with June, July and August the worst time of year for these occurrences.
Near miss. A close call in Hornepayne, Ontario
