The expected Trudeau Cabinet Shuffle went down today here in Ottawa on Parliament Hill this afternoon (Tue. Jan 10th).
The moves see the elevation of several young MP’s into higher profile positions, while a couple of senior Cabinet Ministers were moved out and into Foreign Diplomatic positions.
Stephane Dion, MaryAnn Mihychuk and John McCallum are out, with Dion and McCallum expected to be offered positions abroad.
Reportedly, Dion could become the Ambassador to France or Germany, and McCallum is expected to go to China.
Some of the new faces include;
*Francois-Philippe Champagne, who is a rookie MP from Quebec
*Ahmed Hussen, a Somoli MP from Toronto
*Karina Gould, also an Ontario MP. She’s the youngest of the group, at 29 years of age.
This is Trudeau’s first Cabinet Shuffle heading into the 2nd year of his term as PM.
