The chinook winds in Alberta this morning (Mon. 19th) were so strong that they actually blew over not one, but four semi’s!
That is windy.
The wind warnings covered most of southern and central Alberta, including Edmonton.
Environment Canada warned that winds would be severe, with potential for damage and wind speeds up to 100 km’s per hour.
The warnings stretched from Grande Prairie, Slave Lake and Cold Lake in the north, all the way south to the Canada-U.S. Border, but did not include the city of Calgary or the eastern part of central Alberta.
