Craig Anderson has been on a floating leave with the Sens this season so that he can be near his sick wife Nicholle. She has been diagnosed with throat cancer and it’s family first, as it should be.
The good news is; she is responding to treatment in New York City at a very good Cancer Clinic and the tumour (Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma) has shrunk!
The Anderson’s are ecstatic.
“I am really excited to share this news today. My tumor has responded positively in the right direction,” Nicholle Anderson wrote in her blog.
“The Anderson’s are smiling BIG today!”
No word on when Anderson (Craig that is) will be back in net, but he’s taking whatever time is necessary and rejoining the team in spot starts, and his status has not changed to date.
Mike Condon and Andrew Hammond have been filling in during his absence and Condon will make his 4th straight start against the San Jose Sharks, who will be looking for revenge, tomorrow night (Wednesday) at the CTC.
The Sens beat them last week on the road during their Western Road Swing.
