The emotions this day STILL bring to the surface for so many music fans around the world of so many different generations is a testament to the music he made and the legacy he left behind. John Lennon created countless genius melodies and chord progressions both in the Beatles and as a solo artist – even more amazing in that he was a musician who could not read sheet music. John Lennon was also thought provoking, and one of the first artists brave enough to create commercial music that made us look at ourselves and the world we live in differently. A life taken much too soon but for the 40 years John Winston Lennon of Liverpool England spent on this planet , it was an incredible life lived and we are all better for it.
