What on Earth is this thing?
They’re calling it the “Alaskan Ice Monster.”
It was spotted in the waters of the Chena River in Fairbanks, Alaska, by two Land Management Employees who then posted it to Facebook.
It’s big whatever it is, maybe 12 or 15 feet long.
Could it be the long, lost relative of the “Loch Ness Monster?” Or was it a giant Sturgeon, a wayward shark, a whale, a pet alligator dumped in the river, an icy moose hide, a giant arctic crocodile?
If you looked closely, it has tentacles, and gills with an armoured tail. But definitely tentacles.
Experts at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game claimed it’s nothing biological, just junk. Specifically, they stated on a Facebook update Sunday, the thing was “frazil ice stuck to a rope that is probably caught on a bridge pier.”
Ah, yeah ok.
Actually Ice Monster seems a more reasonable an explanation to me, lol.
