Police have tweeted that the they have no evidence that a stranger tampered with the candy.
Ottawa Police have released a statement that a mother in the Ottawa area has found needles in her child’s Halloween candy
Police are urging parents to carefully check their children’s candy for tampering.
The candy that the sewing needles were found within appeared untampered with. It was handed out in the Meadowbrook area.
A comparable incident happened in Ottawa in 2014. Similarly, a 10 year old boy bit into a piece of candy and discovered a sewing needle. The previous Halloween candy horror story occurred from trick-or-treating in the Barrhaven area.
