This Hotel is so haunted….you have to sign a waiver just to stay there.
Ghost Hunters and spook thrill-seekers love the legendary Shanley Hotel in Ulster County, New York.
It opened in the early 1900’s and this Hotel has had many different Owners through the years.
The Shanleys, who built the Hotel in 1906 were well to do socialites who entertained the who’s who of the early 20th Century — including the like of Eleanor Roosevelt and Thomas Edison.
For as much entertaining as the Shanleys did, they certainly had their share of tragedy.
Beatrice was known as a woman who loved tea parties, fine jewelry, and the company of children. She had three of her own, but they all died within 9 months of their birth.
The Hotels Barbers’ children also died there as did the owners Sister/Sister in law, and ultimately the Owner himself.
According to the Shanley hotel website, throughout the years the property has been plagued with a number of mishaps.
“There were several other accidental deaths, missing persons and rumors of murder throughout the years.”
