As we sit, visit, eat and celebrate this long weekend maybe we can also take the time to think on how many of our friends in the Caribbean, and the Southern States will be rebuilding their lives.
That’s if they are fortunate enough to still have them.
These numbers will only grow, as they always do. People will be digging out for weeks and months.
Many homes in Haiti have not even been rebuilt since the devastating Earthquake, many still living in tents or tin shacks.
Very difficult to survive 250 km/hr winds, in a tent!
And now Florida gets its turn. A State of Emergency is in effect for Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina as 2 million people have left their homes.
Matthew is still a very dangerously strong Category 4 Hurricane and could even hit the Atlantic Coast of Florida TWICE!
History tells us that “Cat 4 Storms” have killed thousands in previous incidents.
We will all hold our collective breathe and pray for the very best outcome possible.
