I saw this video this morning and wanted to share.
I had super crappy acne as a teen – it SUCKED. Seriously, I looked back at pictures years later and thought I had the chicken pox, but nope. That was just my face with acne. I share this because I understand how damaging it can be to one’s self esteem. Now I was lucky – people never made fun of me – it wasn’t that I stuck out like a sore thumb, but I feel like people have gotten meaner over the years. Or more vocal about it. With social media especially. It can bring out the worst in people – as you’ll see in this video. Some people are, sorry, but I’m gonna say it – some people are assholes. And sometimes you feel like you can’t win. If you don’t wear makeup, you’re ugly. If you wear TOO much makeup, you’re ugly. Screw that. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wearing makeup to accentuate your features (or to cover up skin problems). It’s not about hiding behind a mask, but I do see the value of feeling confident about the face that you put forward. Just my random Ray thought of the day.
(note/warning – many of the comments shown in the video include nasty words)
