I introduced myself to Mayor Ford at the Harbour 60 Steakhouse next to the ACC before a Leafs-Habs game about two years ago. It was a brief exchange of hockey jabs and pleasantries. As fate would have it, my brother Bob Marier also met him for the first time that night in Toronto. The two would become closer a few months later when the Mayor hired Bob as his sobriety coach. My biggest take-away from our meeting, besides this selfie, was how Ford was a good sport, a people person and, his calling Montreal (my hometown, at the time) one of the greatest cities in the world. He didn’t have to say that especially standing on T.O. soil. No matter how he ran his life or Toronto, 46 is way too young to leave this world… R.I.P. Rob Ford.
